PTFE (polyethylene terephthalate) is a white plastic commonly found in PTFe tubes. It is the white plastic used in PTFe tubes guiding filament to the extruder and the cooling area of the nozzle. But now there is another PTFe in your printer: it is hidden behind the cooling area of the nozzle.

Most commercial PTFe cooling systems actually use a long PTFE tube in the cooling area of the nozzle to guide the filament toward the heat break zone of the nozzle. The reason behind this design is that it is difficult to keep the tube open enough for a filament to go through and that it makes it possible to adjust the temperature control in the nozzle to adjust the filament. To solve both problems, PTFe is introduced. This is the new plastic with a much longer life span that is completely safe for the PTFe tube and for the cooling system itself. Because of its safety features, it is often used in commercial devices such as industrial PTFe tubes. But most PTFe tubes are not designed for the production of PTFe cooling devices. The main component of PTFe is polypropylene or PP, which is a very dense plastic. PP is resistant to heat, so it does not expand or contract under heat. The PP polymer is then fused with other chemicals in order to form a solid thermoplastic polymer. When PTFe is fused, the resulting polymer is known as PP-T. PP-T has similar properties to PTFe but with the added strength and toughness that polypropylene possesses. This type of PP has a much longer lasting life than the PTFe. With continued exposure to heat, the PP polymer will harden and become resistant to heat, especially when exposed to heat for long periods of time.

The most common use for PTFe cooling systems is the use of PTFe tubes in hot air-based cooling systems, such as those used for heaters and water heaters. However, this does not mean PTFe cooling systems are not effective in cooling in other applications. They are highly efficient in the use of PTFe in the cooling of heaters. PTFe is also used as an active coolant in water heaters because of its thermally conducting properties. It is also used to protect electronics from high temperature, as well as in the cooling of liquid nitrogen.

Another great application of PP is in the heat exchanger used in a heat exchanger in order to provide fluid cooling at a very high level. In the past, the heat exchanger was made of a PTFe tube. But nowadays, heat exchangers are now made of other materials, like aluminum or stainless steel, in order to reduce the amount of PTFe.
